[NEWS] 101121 U-Kiss successfully completes performances at “Kings of Freedom” concert

U-Kiss put their fans in a frenzy after performing at the “Kings of Freedom Concert” in Singapore on the night of November 19th.

The boys performed their latest track, “Shut Up!”, along with “Man Man Ha Ni”, “Bingeul Bingeul”, and others.
The freedom concert is one of Singapore’s representative music festivals, and U-Kiss was invited as one of the only foreign musicians. Over 5,000 people gathered for the concert.

U-Kiss held a short press conference at Singapore’s Korea Plaza and stated, “This is our third visit to Singapore and we feel that it’s a great honor to be able to participate in such a great concert. We will work our hardest to show the charms of Korean music.”

Yong Sun Joong of the Singaporean branch of the Korea Tourism Organization added, “A lot of people in Singapore have much interest in Korean music. U-Kiss helped improve Korea’s image and promote tourism as well.”

[NEWS] 101119 U-Kiss invited to perform in Singapore’s ‘The Kings of Freedom Concert’

Idol group U-Kiss will be driving their Singaporean fans wild!

The group departed from Korea on November 19th in order to attend “The Kings of Freedom Concert” in Singapore. The concert is a community-outreach effort, sponsored by the Youth Empire, to promote harmony within the multi-cultural community. The event will begin at 8PM at Bedok Reservoir Park.

With many top Singaporean celebrities in attendance, U-Kiss is the only international artist to be invited. The group recently took #1 on a popularity poll for international artists in Singapore, and was even extended a special invite by Singapore’s Foreign Minister, George Yeo.

The boys will be performing songs like “Shut Up!”, “Man Man Ha Ni”, and “Bingeul Bingeul”.

U-Kiss stated, “It’s an incredible honor to be able to participate in one of Singapore’s biggest concerts. As representatives of Korea, we will show them the charm of Korean music“.

[NEWS] 101118 U-Kiss’ Confession “Disappointed When Being Called ‘Dongho & The Boys'”

7-members idol group U-Kiss talked about them feeling kind of betrayed when they were being called ‘Dongho & Boys’.

U-Kiss recently appeared in Mnet ‘Beatles Code‘ recording, and they shared some undisclosed stories to the public.

U-Kiss’ Alexander in particular, where he said “Dongho is doing well. However, it was frustrating whenever we heard people addressing us as ‘Dongho & Boys’“.

Among U-Kiss’ 7 members, the youngest Dongho is very well known due to him appearing frequently in many entertainment variety programs. In some cases, people were joking around and addressed U-Kiss as ‘Dongho & Boys’.

Also on the show, Alexander showcased and officially confirmed his talent in 8 languages such as Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese etc. Not just that, Eli, who was once dream to be an action star actor, showed his Taekwondo and Kungfu skills by demonstrating a powerful kick, which earned him a huge response.

Besides U-Kiss, Roora was invited as a guest too. This episode of Mnet ‘Beatles Code’ will be aired on November 18th at 12:00AM.

[NEWS] Dongho’s Movies Catch Fan’s Attnetion

U-Kiss’ Dongho is making his movie debut in the “Villain on the Second Floor.” His role is an arrogant middle school student who the main character’s daughter pines for.

Kim Hyesu, who is the main character of the movie, handpicked Dongho for the part. Dongho commented, “I’m so nervous because it’s my first time acting. I’m honored to be working with Han Sukgyu and Kim Hyesu. I want to become as great as they are so I could act with them again.”

The comedic movie will open in theaters on the 25th. Other idols such as Big Bang’s TOP, T-ara’s Jiyeon, 2AM’s Seulong, CN Blue’s Lee Jonghyun and Kang Minhyuk have already made movie debuts. Are you looking forward to Dongho’s movie as well?

Although there is no confirmation on the launching dates and price. It seems that U-Kiss Fans are already hyped up for it’s upcoming release.

The Release of Mini Album ‘Shut Up!’ U-Kiss

It was intended to become ‘bad guys’ from the beginning. The title track is called ‘Shut Up!’ Then, maknae Dongho who thought to be young shouts ‘Oppa hates you’. From the ‘Gangnam namja’ image in the prelude of ‘Man Man Ha Ni’, continuing through ‘Bingeul Bingeul’, ‘Mworago’, ‘Shut Up!’, and up to now to strongly give off a fairly male scent.

They exercised to build their abs, and they even went topless without hesitation for their music video. The 7-members group U-Kiss (Alexander, Kevin, Eli, Kibum, Soohyun, Dongho, Kiseop) came out with swords firmly shoved in the 4th mini album.

Attempts with change in composers
December performances in Osaka and Tokyo

“Though it’s just a mini album, but it also contains a 56 pages pictorial book. In a way, if you look at the album alone, it’s not the same as our first album. It is made as eagerly as ‘Man Man Ha Ni’. There were also many changes.”
The 4th mini album is considered to be the appropriate time to make changes in the team. They also parted from Brave Brothers for a while, the composer that has always worked together with them since their debut in 2008. They wanted to further strengthen their performances on stage by showing their matured appearances and the only certain color of U-Kiss.
“I think that changes are always necessary in all groups. They did not want to be limited to one style only. Somehow if the composer is the same, it cannot be helped to have a similar style. Thus a daring decision was made.”
For the album this time, they worked together with hit maker composers such as Kim Tae Hyun who composed Ivy ‘Sonata of Temptation’, After School ‘Bang!’ and T-ara ‘I Go Crazy Because of You’, Kim Tae Wan who created Rain ‘Love Song’, as well as PJ who composed IU ‘Marshmallow’. Overall, it remains based on electronic sounds but trying to change the melody or genre and putting more emphasis on performance factors.
“If Brave Brothers hyung’s style is the music that are suitable for the club, then (Kim) Tae Hyun hyung’s style is to show a strong performance’s element. Originally, (Kim) Tae Wan hyung’s ‘Light It Up’ was the title track but it was changed immediately upon hearing Tae Hyun hyung’s ‘Shut Up’. Even during jacket’s shooting too, the thoughts of changing to show a lot of things on stage came out without hesitation.”
Changing the title track in a situation where there was not very much time left for the comeback was hard. However, barely sleeping, the members headed straight to the practice room unconditionally. Rather than the simple movements that was shown, the timing among the members must be synchronized correctly since it was a group dance. Thus, the members did not complained and had come together to practice hard.
“When the consciousness for clear goal arose in the short time, we came to like teamwork more. In addition, we also had fun while learning the dance. Of course, were very worried at first. All of the members were once seen to be pressed by nightmare.”
After working hard for the comeback, their schedules are filled up till January next year. Along with domestic activities, they are doing a music program in Japan once a week. In December, fan-meetings and solo concerts will be held in Japan’s Osaka and Tokyo. There is a plan to release an album which contains the full version of this current album’s intro ‘Before Yesterday’ in next year January.
“We think of welcoming a warm winter while doing domestic activities eagerly. We also want to be active in overseas activities so as to live up to being an ‘International group’ that was made at the time when we debuted. Even though we haven’t reached #1 under our name, that isn’t the most necessary thing.”
A Bit Hit if You Don’t See a Ghost

U-Kiss’ jinx is that their album doesn’t seem to sell well if they see a ghost. Contrary to what Korean music industry believes, which seeing spirit in the studio means that the album will hit a jackpot. They encounter a ghost before, but didn’t see any since ‘Man Man Ha Ni’, which resulted them to have a big hit. Therefore, they did not hope of seeing a ghost. They didn’t want to encounter a bad luck later on.

“Eli was practicing so hard, he exercised even when he went to the toilet. He eventually slipped, which resulting a broken wrist. And Dongho had almost encountered a big trouble during the shooting of album jacket. He was up on the 2nd floor for his photoshoot when the floor broke and his foot fell through it. It was lucky that his butt was caught up by the floor, else, he would have had a serious injury.”

[NEWS] 101109 U-Kiss celebrates 800th day anniversary with snacks from fans…

Male group U-Kiss recently hit their 800th day anniversary since their 2008 debut with “New Generation.”

On November 5th, fans celebrated the occasion by delivering personally-prepared sandwiches and snacks to U-Kiss’ waiting room at KBS’s “Music Bank” studio.

Soohyun remarked, “It’s hard to believe that it has already been 800 days. It would’ve been nice if we had done better, so it’s a bit upsetting. However, I’m more apologetic to our fans. We haven’t done anything for them and they continually give us so much love. I’m thankful, but also sorry.”

U-Kiss responded to their fans’ love by personally passing out drinks and Peperos (chocolate pocky sticks) during November 7th’s recording of SBS’s “Inkigayo.”

Currently, the group is busy promoting their latest single, “Shut Up!” Members Kevin and Dongho are also making their acting debuts through “On Air Live” and “Villian & Widow” respectively.

[NEWS] 101108 U-Kiss’ Kibum and SS501’s Hyung Joon to Open an Online Store

Idol brothers Kim Kibum (U-Kiss) and Kim Hyung Joon (SS501) recently announced their plans to launch a new online store.

 

Kibum and Hyung Joon opened an official site for their new company, HnB Company, back in September 2010. They created a toy character named ‘Piro Piro‘, whose merchandise will begin selling soon.

 

Kibum revealed,

 

“We’ve always been interested in design, so I got to start a business with my hyung. Since we will be directly creating the designs and selling the merchandise, we’re really nervous. Yet I’m highly anticipative of the outcome. All we need to do now is to officially launch our new online store. At the moment, we’ve already managed our factory orders, rented a business office, and employed our staff. I showed the sample products to the other members, and they said the character looks like our maknae Dongho. I’m hoping we’re able to do well enough to start getting offline orders too. I’ll be working hard with U-KISS as well, so I hope for everyone’s anticipation and interest.”

[NEWS] 101107 U-Kiss’ Alexander Fakes his Smile Using Photoshop?

It seems that U-Kiss member Alexander went to sleep last night in a bit of a bad mood and woke up in it as well!

 

He didn’t want to show his fans his moody face so he came up with a clever idea to photoshop a smile onto his face for a selca photo and uploaded it onto his Twitter account.

 

He updated the following last night,

 

 

“Back to home.. not really in mood.. better sleep.. Well.. I’m HUMAN~ so can’t be 24/7 like this -> (^v^) Or else I’ll be like Joker (Batman)”

“Anyone not in mood too? Go to sleep now, reboot yourself, n start a brand new day tmrw w/ a freakin SMILE on ur face! (>v<)/~ LOL~ Gdnite!!★”

When he woke up, he tweeted the following along with this photo,

 

“Woke up w/ a smile~? Well… not really in mood so FAKED my smile using photoshop~ Now.. this is a FREAKIN SMILE~”
